VH Status Info 10-15-2011
First, to address some bugs and issues:
1. I know about the two train scenes, and have added them for the next patch.
2. There are some areas around Hot Spring Town (Such as the goblin bride/cave quest line and the east inn) that are not translated.
3. Remember, this is a game that’s still in development so there are bugs in multiple places. I would highly highly highly recommend against keeping one save file. I don’t think it’s possible for the translation itself to introduce any non-textual bugs.
4. I’ll fix some of the issues (such as name overlapping) in the diary in the next patch.
5. When installing the RTP and using the RPGTrans tool, make sure your system setting is Japanese or you’re using applocale.
6. The depository site for the base VH game denied access for a while, likely due to seeing a huge spike in traffic. I think it was an automatic response by the server, and it’s back up and able to be downloaded from again.
Also, thanks to AMKahm’s nifty little PHP script, I’m not using wordpad to edit the lines anymore. What does this mean? Well:
1. I now have an actual line count, and percentage marker.
2. Since it uses text boxes in firefox, there’s spellcheck!
3. It shows how many lines are in each map file, and makes it easier to switch back and forth around through them.
4. Any lines that are identical to other lines automatically get the translation added in.
It won’t really make it faster to translate, but it will make it much faster to edit and ensure everything in a map file was translated.
EDIT: Also, you don’t need to put a name or e-mail in to comment. I just don’t know how to delete those fields. I’m sure I could figure it out, but I’m lazy so I won’t. Also I don’t delete any comments but spam.

How do you trigger the character makeup anyway? I remember it being an option in the older games, but is it a trigger somewhere in the prologue now or something?
You got to break into the front cart. Make sure you sneak in and not fight the guards, as the loot is different if you fight.
Then loot the chests (but don’t interact with the bed) and head back out, talk to the jeweler (one of the green guys) and he will offer a trade.
Trade the VH heart for “fortune telling gem” then go to sleep and Nanako will think back on her childhood.

Anyway, maybe one you finish VH and MGQ2 you would like to try your hand at GalZoo Island; a great Alice Soft game that has never been translated. I’m sure that a lot of people would love to see it translated.

I actually abandoned VH, as much as I love it, because the engrish that comes out of the translation tools was usually too senseless to enjoy. I wish to wholeheartedly apologize for all the stupid bugs in my diary pictures, it’s a patchwork of different diary patches and my own modifications. Some of the text pictures need to be redesigned for the blue background and black boxed theme they added late last year still, I just haven’t gotten around to that quite yet. Let’s not talk about the ones that aren’t even aligned the same.
I still stick by my modified menstruation states though. Stupid as hell to have 3 green ones.

Anyways, here’s the fixed version with most everything translated except those titles they haven’t used yet. Actually… 称号「子だくさん」 , I could use help translating this one. It seems to be the greater title of another title. I THINK 「子だくさん」 means mother of many, but I’m not sure, I just know the last translator decided it meant “with child”.
Yeah, it means “Many Children”. Don’t worry about the diary bugs, it saved me a lot of time haha.
ok, I’ll finish re-creating the new title pictures then, in case they decide to suddenly use them. I’ll post again when I’m done.
The hotfix up there doesn’t seem to work. The .png’s are corrupted or something.
I haven’t tested much in-game, but the files open fine for me.
Maybe re-download or try in japanese locale/applocale (For extracting the files/playing the game/etc)?
yeah, if the files don’t show up with kanji names you need to run your unarchiver in Japanese locale. Even better, the whole machine lmao. You can even change the images while the game is running, actually, which is a great thing for debugging I tell you.
I’m running the whole machine in applocale. It says unknown method when I try to open or extract the files with winrar though it did extract a bunch of files that overwrote the ones that were working before. I redownloaded the fix and tried again as well. Now I can’t figure out how to get it back working as I didn’t back up the original files. I’ll probably just wait for the next patch and reinstall the whole thing I guess.
As the person that did the first version of the translated title images, if you think I got one wrong you are almost certainly right. It was purely machine translation from the file names.
I tried to make the best sense possible out off all the translations TA gave me. I sure I got some wrong; which is why I tried to leave the original text visible on the ones that I was less certain about.

Great job so far Rogue. I’ve always wanted to play this game but I don’t speak Japanese and the only other translation available wasn’t that great. So, you have my gratitude and upmost respect for taking this project on.
If you do carry on translating RPG Maker games after you’ve finished with this one, then may I suggest Succubus Quest? That does look like an extremely polished game and it would be super to be able to play it in English too!
From what I can tell… this is one of the best H-RPGs out there (even if it’s not finished) and I’ve been waiting for a nice translation for Violated Heroine for SO LONG! (I tried editing/combining other translations a bit myself, but I’m no translator yet…)

Would the new patch work on version 111005? It seems they updated the diary.
The text patch would work (but anything new or changed would obviously be untranslated). But copying over the translated pictures (diary, status, etc…) may cause issues if they had changed the format again.

Nope, I’m going to finish this version first. Trying to keep up with the current version adds a bunch of unnecessary work for no gain.
The game is just too awsome :) Just at start you have 4 different beginnings :)

After you talk with 2nd guard ^_^
1. go sleep in bed
2. go north till you get to train car with window , look twice trough window and select to kill em ( then kill em ) look tresure go to sleep and ure in town.
3. go up the ladders to roof and if you go south , then you end up in train car with some stuff and a guard , hide in a box , you end up in prison and its game over then :P
4. go up the ladders to roof and go north , at some points the train will shake and you will fall off into woods and later on will get to town at night naked. – dunno what happends here will explore this one later on
Maybe there are more but these are ones i found so far :) Don’t know if those beginning effect the game later on somehow ( maybe at some stats or something ), Nvm this I just can’t wait till you release the game fully translated :) Whoever made it seams to have given it a great effort with little details and story :) aaa im soooo exicted and i j…………….
I believe falling off the train is just a way to get to the sex quickly, since you start with a dirty stat of 70 when you do it (which is a purity stat of around 30 when you start normally).
Also, you don’t really have to attack the guards
Well it’s not they’re hard to kill or something :) I did try to have sex in town inside inn after i fell of the train but the guy refured and she got depressed or something and moved very very slow :) It said the refusal to have sex hit her hard but what i dont get why did she get slowed
They’re not hard to kill, but you do get different items if you decide to wait for them to leave.
